EPIC+R
EPIC+R is an innovative mixed-use development in North Minneapolis, featuring over 12,000 square feet of commercial space. This space includes a daycare center, entrepreneur incubator/production space, and retail/office space. Committed to Passive House Institute (PHI) and SB2030 standards, it's the area's first passive house project, addressing environmental justice concerns in a Qualified Census Tract (QCT) with many low-income residents and people of color. The project includes 68 culturally appropriate intergenerational housing units, including three-bedroom & four-bedroom units, prioritizing affordability for families.
Located in a transit-oriented community (TOC), the development integrates various amenities near transit routes, promoting accessibility and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It also features amenity space designed based on feedback from equitable engagement sessions. Partnering with nonprofits the developer plans to offer on-site youth mentorship, homeownership programs, credit building services, and employment assistance, creating pathways for employment and homeownership for residents.
